Applied behavioral analysis (ABA) uses scientific and systematic processes to help influence an individual’s behavior. Behavior analysts can work in schools, classrooms, hospitals, clinics, and nonprofits; many analysts specialize in certain areas like autism, developmental disabilities, or mental health issues. The scientific approach from ABA to help patients lead more fulfilling lives by changing their behavior.
The THERAPEUTIC CONSULTATION regulations do allow for direct services, but within the framework of a consultation model.
A Positive Behavior Support Facilitator provides positive behavior support. This is a scientifically validated practice that seeks to increase a person’s competence in community-based settings with peers of the person’s choosing through the application of behavioral techniques which, by default, results in a decrease in challenging behaviors.
